Process of Shipping a Car to the UAE

  • Booking: Choose a specialized car shipping company that provides transport services to the UAE. You can opt for air freight for faster delivery or sea freight for a cost-effective solution. Sea freight options include container shipping (Full / Sharing) or Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo).
  • Documentation: The vehicle must comply with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) standards. The owner or a legally authorized representative must be present for the clearance process. A local power of attorney must be arranged for us to facilitate customs and port procedures on your behalf.
  • Preparation: Before shipping, the vehicle undergoes an inspection, and necessary documents are verified, including the original purchase invoice, registration certificate, and export papers from the country of origin. The fuel level should be below a quarter tank. Photos and videos are taken to document the car’s condition before transport.
  • Logistics: Once the vehicle is ready, it is securely loaded into a container, vessel, or aircraft for transportation. On arrival at a UAE port (such as Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, or Sharjah), the vehicle is unloaded and prepared for the customs clearance process.
  • Export and Import Customs: At the port of entry, customs formalities such as duty payments, inspections, and documentation verification are conducted. We assist with the entire process, ensuring all paperwork is in order and any applicable taxes/fees are paid.
  • Vehicle Testing, Registration, and Compliance: After clearing customs, the car must undergo an inspection by the UAE’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to confirm compliance with local road safety and environmental standards. Modifications may be required, such as adjusting headlights, side mirrors, and emissions controls to meet UAE regulations. Once approved, the vehicle is registered, and license plates are issued.
  • Additional Services: We offer value-added services, including insurance assistance, registration support, car detailing, modifications, and doorstep delivery.
  • Important Note: Always check the latest UAE import regulations concerning vehicle age, emissions, and GCC compliance before shipping. Contact us for detailed guidelines on specific vehicle requirements.
